Advanced Open Water

Just finished your Open Water Certification and wondering what comes next?

The Advanced Open Water Diver course is all about advancing your skills and introducing you to 5 different specialties.

But whenever you work with Chef Anton you always get more.  As a special gift, when we teach Advanced Open Water we also certify you for Peak Performance Buoyancy at the same time for FREE.  That means you get 6 Dives instead of 5 and 2 Certification Cards instead of 1.  It is just like MAGIC.

You’ll practice navigation and buoyancy, try deep diving and make three specialty dives of your choosing (it’s like a specialty sampler platter). For every specialty dive you complete, you can earn credit toward PADI specialty certifications.

How Do You Use Magic to Teach this Class?

If you have never taken a class from Chef Anton, you are in for a treat.  Chef includes magic in all of the dive briefings as he explains what is needed for the certification.  Then underwater, he will entertain and amuse you during your safety stop with his critically-acclaimed Scuba Magician It-Ain’t-Magic Tricks.  Truly an experience of a lifetime.  You will always remember this class.

How Does It Work?

You begin your self-study with the PADI Advanced Open Water Manual.  Here you will learn about many of the specialties PADI offers such as Night Diving, Underwater Photography and many more.  The great news…there is no test!  You simply complete the Knowledge of the 6 dives we will be doing together.

Which Dives Do We Select?

PADI requires all divers to complete Underwater Navigation and Deep Diving.  You then select the other three specialties that interest you.  My recommendation is we include:  Search & Recovery, Fish I.D. and Wreck Diving.  As an added bonus, I will include your Peak Performance Buoyancy Certification at no additional training costs.

Where Do We Go?

Day 1 – La Jolla or Laguna Beach

  • Underwater Navigation
  • Search and Recover
  • Peak Performance Buoyancy

Day 2 – Catalina

  • Deep Diver
  • Wreck Diver
  • Fish I.D.
