Imagine this…

You bring out 4 pieces of rope that are all the same length.  You get two and your dive buddy gets the other two.  It becomes a “Do As I Do” magic trick meaning the dive buddy will mimic everything you do.  Each person ties their ropes together making them one piece of rope…similar to a Sheets Bend.  However, this is a magic trick.

You each take out your alternate air sources and free flow the bubbles on your individual knots.  Your knot melts away and the other diver’s knot does not.  You then switch ropes and take their piece of rope and free flow your alternate air source again and magically their knot “pops off their rope” and you hand it to them to be inspected.
